What is Volunteer Wave?
Volunteer Wave is a flexible volunteering program by Captain Scott Legacy Society. Instead of committing to one organization long-term, members can choose from a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
From food bank shifts and community events to environmental cleanups and care packages, every event is a chance to help others while meeting new people and building community.
No experience needed. Just show up when you can.

How Volunteer Wave works

1. Come Aboard!
Browse our upcoming volunteer opportunities on our events calendar. When you find an event that you're interested in, sign up on Bloomerang and add the shift to your schedule. Then, just show up and get volunteering. Spots fill up fast, so sign up when you see something available!

3. Help Steer (if you want!)
If you love Volunteer Wave and want to get more involved, you can become a Crew Lead. Help out at events, welcome new volunteers, and help make Volunteer Wave a great place to be.

Come on your own or bring a friend. You’ll meet other volunteers, try different things, and get to know your community along the way. You might even find your new volunteer crew!
Ways to make waves
There’s no right way to be part of Volunteer Wave. Some people bring their whole friend group. Some are the first to say hi to someone new. Some have a skill they love sharing. Others are always behind the camera. We’ve got a few fun ways to jump in and make the day your own. Pick one that sounds like you, or just come as you are.
No extra commitment. No big responsibilities. Just an easy way to get a little more involved.
The Welcomer
Make everyone feel included!
Be the friendly face people see when they arrive. Say hi, introduce yourself, help new volunteers get settled, and make sure no one is standing around wondering what to do or who to talk to.

The Connector
Invite people to volunteer with you!
Got friends, coworkers, classmates, or family who would love to volunteer? Invite them to join you. Spread the word, share upcoming events, and help us grow the Volunteer Wave crew.
The Skill-Sharer
Share your skills with the group!
Maybe you speak another language, know your way around a toolbox, have First Aid training, or just have a skill that could come in handy. Whatever it is, bring it along and share what you know.
The Storyteller
Become an influencer!
Take a few photos, grab a quick video, or share a moment from the day. Help us show what volunteering actually looks like and celebrate the people who make it happen.
